FUTURE PATIENT ROOM

Designed a patient room fit for the future by using technology to increase safety, offering modular furniture for families of patients, and providing sustainable design features for operation solutions. The design addresses the integration of technology. This patient room highlights a versatile design that can be easily transformed to fit any users needs. This design features an interlocking system that allows the room to be transformed depending on the situation. This project was created and produced with a partner. The renders were generated through Revit and edited in Photoshop.

Program:

Lounge Area - This area is to make the family of the patient feel comfortable. A custom bench was designed to allow the bench to transform from a backrest, to a side table, to a bench to allow the family member to face both toward and away from the patient depending on the situation.

Family Area - Designed for the users preferences. During the day, the area serves as a comfortable sofa for family members to sit and relax. The sofa expands into a bed that allows multiple family members to rest. If the user wants extra privacy an addition partition can be added.

Patient Area - This area is designed to be a multifunctional area both for the patient and the staff. On occasions, the projected screen can be relaxing, used as a screensaver or for entertainment to watch a movie. If doctors need to consult an outside source about a patient they can Skype with the source and the patient all within the same room for convenience.
